James Theodore Caldwell, 73 of Wheeling, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at home.
He was born June 26, 1944 in Canonsburg, the son of the late Oakie and Nellie Ford Caldwell.
James graduated from high school and attended union carpentry training.
He worked as a carpenter.
James was a master scuba diver, master sky diver and a private pilot and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He played the role of a skydiving Santa at Hills Department Store each year. He recently began training as a boxer in Wheeling. James also played bass and sang in several country bands.
Surviving are several daughters and a son; several grandchildren; a sister Lola Telatovich of Hazelton, PA; a former wife and trusted friend as well as her family, Loretta Holland; numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Doris Howard and Geraldine Magee; and a brother Raymond Briggs.
Friends will be received Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. the time of service at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Burial is private.
