Joan Marie Wiegand, 75, of Washington, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in the Donnell House, surrounded by her loved ones, and her dogs. She was born on November 12, 1941, in the Northside of Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Raymond J. and Marge Florian Wiegand. A graduate of Allegheny High School, she was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church. Joan worked for forty-three years at Superior Valve Company, retiring as plant superintendent. Ms. Wiegand was a devoted personal caregiver to several people. She loved her family and friends, and enjoyed reading, cooking, golfing, and gardening. A Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, she enjoyed going to the Pirates games. Joan loved her two dogs, Levi and Riley. Surviving are her loving companion of twenty-five years, Tammy Marie Bennett; Tammy’s parents, Alfred and Patricia Bennett; and two God-children, Andrea "Missy" Lutes Coyle and Danielle Vanderlee. Deceased is a God-son, Edward "Andy" Lutes.She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 26, 2017, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, 320 Henderson Ave, Washington, PA. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
