George Julos

George Julos 90 of Washington passed away on August 18, 2017 in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care of Washington. He was born July 2, 1927 in Pittsburgh the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Filipek Julos. George graduated from Trinity High School and attended Washington and Jefferson College for two years. George served in the Merchant Marines later in the U.S Army in the European theatre. He worked at Hazel Atlas Glass, Tygart Valley and Brockway Glass for over 40 years. George previously attended 1st Lutheran church and most recently attended Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church. George was a Member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, and past president of Duncan Miller Glass Museum he also was owner & operator Angora Heights Antiques. He enjoyed playing softball for Brockway Glass, and basketball in the industrial league for Veltri Cleaners. On September 27, 1950, he married Mary Jane Elizabeth Kelley, who died on June 25, 1986. Surviving are sons, George Nicholas(Lee) Julos, Jace Allen Julos, & Michael John Julos all of Washington; daughter Mary Sue Julos of Washington; sister, Catherine (John) Rush of Washington; grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Jacob & Noah; Brother-In-Law Alfred Davidson. Deceased are sisters, Helen Hendricks, Stella Loucks, Elizabeth Davidson, Ann Karas and brother, John Julos; two sets of twin siblings and a sister at infancy; beloved longtime companion Jane Hunt. Friends will be received Tuesday August 22, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue Washington, where services will be held Wednesday August 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Concordia hospice-Donnell House 10 Leet Street Washington, PA 15301.
