James "Junior" W. Johnston Jr.

James “Junior” W. Johnston, Jr. 69 of Washington, passed away on his father’s birthday, August 17, 2017 at his children’s home. He was born April 5, 1948, in Washington the son of the late James W. Johnston Sr. and Ruth A. Wise Johnston. Junior was a 1968 graduate of Trinity High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for Service Master Cleaning Co., Beatty Chevrolet in Carnegie, Cliff Heath Ford and Cerdec Corp. Junior was a member of Life Church and loved to sing, watch wrestling, the Pirates and Steelers, Facebook, country and oldies music. He also enjoyed western movies and word search. On January 20, 1979 he married, Bonnie Louise Johnston, who died February 4, 2014. Surviving are a son, Michael D. (Annamarie) Johnston of Eighty-Four; a daughter, Christal L. (Joe) Herring of Eighty-Four; two brothers, William (the late Diana) Johnston of Eighty-Four and Robert (Jin Hee) Johnston of Sacramento, CA; four sisters, Linda (Richard) Bricker of Fredericktown, OH, Janet Wriston of Mt. Vernon, OH, Sandra (Donald) Mandich of Newark, OH and Karen (Mike) Parr of Pataskala, OH; two grandchildren, Austin Michael Solow of Washington and Michaela Arlene Johnston of Washington; several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a grandbaby. Friends will be received Monday, August 21, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post #639.
