Michael A. Gordon, 69 of Washington, died in an auto accident, on Monday, July 24, 2017.
He was born June 10, 1948 in Washington, a son of the late James and Barbara Warrick Gordon.
Mr. Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Army., having served as a Communication Specialist, during the Vietnam War, from June 21, 1966, until his Honorable Discharge, as a Sergeant, February 5, 1970.
For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and Army Commendation Medal.
Michael had worked at Kosey Construction as a construction foreman, and most recently was a millwright at Hartman and Hartman.
He was a TWIST softball coach for 23 years, and was an active volunteer at Fix-Ur-Cat, an organization that provides low cost neutering of cats.
On October 22, 1988, he married Autumn Lee Scott, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James R. Gordon, and Daniel (Melissa) Gordon, both of Washington; a daughter, Tracy M. Gordon, of Washington; a brother, Chester Gordon, of Washington; three half-brothers, Rocco Proia, Joseph Proia and Charles Proia; a sister, Kathy Krenzylak, of Washington; a half-sister, Mary Beth Cole; a grandchild, Justin Harris, and his dog Lucky.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three half brothers, John Proia, Arthur Proia Jr., and Frank Proia.
A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5 to 7:30 p.m., the time of service at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington.
