Johnnie Jay Jones, 57 of West Finley died unexpectedly, July 4, 2017 in an auto accident. He was born June 18, 1960, in Washington, the son of Carol Ann Bell Jones of Claysville and the late Ronald Jones. Johnnie attended McGuffey Schools and retired from Local 286 Labor Union. He was a member of Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church. Johnnie loved flea markets, trading with his friends and his animals, especially his horse “Red”. He also loved his wife and kids to the fullest and his grandchildren were his life. Johnnie had been a devoted foster parent. On August 17, 1985, he married Linda S. Thomas, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Johnnie Jones of West Finley, Cody Jones of Cecil and Zachary Jones of West Finley; three brothers, Ronald (Betty) Jones Jr. of West Liberty, WV, Frank (Annette) Jones and Gerald (Janice) Jones both of East Finley; two sisters, Glenda Fisher of Washington and Brenda (Melvin) Johnson of Prosperity; two grandchildren, Johnnie and Autumn; 11 nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Larry Deemer officiating. Burial will follow at Prosperity Cemetery.
