Howard William Byrd

Howard William Byrd, 63 of Washington, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at home. He was born May 30, 1954 in Washington, the son of the late Russell “Bus” Byrd and Myrtle Grimm Byrd. Howard attended Washington High School and worked in maintenance at Penn Commercial Technical Institute for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family. Surviving are a daughter, Theresa (Tim) Hickle of Washington; two brothers, Russell (Darlene) Byrd Jr. of Washington and Richard (Emma) Byrd of Washington; three sisters, Carol Byrd, Janet (Terry Galloway) Jenkins, Sarah (Art) Byres all of Washington; two grandchildren, Kelsey Hickle and Hunter Hickle both of Washington; several nieces and nephews. Deceased are four sisters, Esther Kelley, Evelyn Byrd Furbee, Shirley Kelley and Betty Byres. Friends will be received Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, June 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Earl Parkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
