Robert A. "Bob" Barney

Robert A. “Bob” Barney, 75 of Washington, died Monday, June 19, 2017 at home. He was born February 11, 1942 in Washington, the son of the late Alonzo L. Rood and Ora E. Caldwell Barney. Bob retired from working in Maintenance at the Washington Mall in 1993. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, bird watching, puzzle books and word search. On April 11, 1970, he married Helen M. Bowes, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert H. J. (Gini) Barney of Washington and Jason A. (Shelli) Barney of Aliquippa; a daughter, Jodie L. (Dennis “Sherm” Sherman) Barney of Marianna; a sister, Nancy Rocky Plymire of Washington; five grandchildren, Jamie R. (Timmy Klonowski) Barney, Robbie F. Barney, Anthony J. (Paige) Seaman, Anthony J. “A.J.” Klesser and Michael Leadbitter; two great grandchildren, Dallas and Parker Seaman; mother in law, Julia Yolch of Burgettstown; brother in law, Howard W. Jacobs of Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are his siblings, Frank Sollinger, Lenora Morgan, Lonnie Barney and Howard “Butch” Rood. Friends will be received Monday, June 26, 2017 from 2 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Steve and Doreen Parkhill officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
