Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Richey, 66, of Washington, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born on February 20, 1951, in Ohio, a son of the late Donald Merle and Willetta Farley Richey.
A graduate of McGuffey High School, he attended Memphis State University on a football scholarship.
Jeff owned Richey’s Market, with his family, and after the market was sold, he worked at All-Clad, in Canonsburg, where he later retired.
Mr. Richey was a fireman with the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.
He loved spending time with his family, and his grandchildren, and their sports. A sports fanatic, Jeff coached his kids’ baseball and football teams for McGuffey, loved all Pittsburgh sports, and was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed fishing.
On July 7, 1984, he married Linda S. Frantz, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James M. (Carol) Richey, of Washington, and Benjamin A. Richey, of Washington; a stepson, David C. (Bridgette) Rogers, of Wexford; a stepdaughter, Krissy (Ernie) Delgado, of Washington; and seven grandchildren, Dillon (Rachel) Richey, Hanna Richey, Ella Richey, Kayla and Braden Baxendell, and Ajay and Brody Rogers.
Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2017.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, 101 Jolly School Rd., Washington, PA 15301.
