Lois A. Craft McConnell, 88 of Chartiers Township, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Washington County Health Center. She was born April 29. 1929 in Prosperity, a daughter of the late Wayne and Elizabeth “Betty” Hazlett Craft. Wayne died when Lois was 2 years old, her mother remarried the late Dave “DW” Hughes, who raised her. Mrs. McConnell was a member of the Forth Presbyterian Church. She was employed by Continental Rubber Plant of Erie, PA, R.C.A. of Canonsburg and was a home health care aide, she also was an avid bowler. On January 24, 1948, she married Raymond L. McConnell, who passed away March 15, 1988. Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca J. Ruschel-Brown of Lakeland, FL; a son, Dennis R. (Barbara) McConnell of Washington; a sister Helen Craft Allen of Gambrills, MD: Twin granddaughters, Shawn Ruschel of Bradenton, FL and Tanya Silcott of Washington; a grandson, Paul M. McConnell; a granddaughter, Paula (John) Brower of Washington; six great grandchildren, Riley McConnell, Nicholas Silcott and Justin Silcott, Christopher, Matthew, Joshua Brower. Deceased are three sisters, Claribel McConaughey, Kathryn Sayre and Sara Hughes; a son in law, Benjamin L. Brown. Friends will be received Monday, May 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Fran Skariot officiating. Burial will follow at Prosperity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shawn Ruschel and Tanya Silcott.
