Kathleen Sue Amon

Kathleen Sue Amon, 55 of Washington, died Thursday, May11, 2017, at home, following a six-year illness. She was born May 6, 1962 in Washington, a daughter of the late James Hampe and Nancy Johnson Kelley. Kathleen was a graduate of Washington High School, and a homemaker. She loved spending time with family, grandchildren and friends and was a Green Bay Packers fan. Surviving are a son, Joseph (Crystal) Amon of Locust Grove, VA; a daughter, Gwendolyn (Joshua Cole) Amon of Washington; her step father, William Kelley of Washington; a step brother, Michael Kelley of Louisiana; two sisters, Pamela Geruschat of Pittsburgh, Lisa (David) Cain of Cokeburg; a step sister, Brenda Kelley of California; four grandchildren, Scott, Zachary, Brandon and Riley; two aunts, Romaine Phillips, of Jacksonville, NC, and Barbara Hughes of Washington; her companion, Terry Fonner; her best friend, Liz Comer; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Beverly Allen. Friends will be received Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 3 to 5 pm, the time of service, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in care of the Funeral Home.
