Sylvia “Priscilla” Chenney Foflygen Chuey, 93, of Scenery Hill, died on Thursday, April 20, 2017, in the Washington Hospital.
She was born on February 13, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of the late Albert and Verna McCoy Chenney.
Mrs. Chuey attended Washington District schools through eighth grade.
Priscilla was an extreme sports fan, who enjoyed all sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates.
She was an avid bingo player at the Washington American Legion, with her friend of many years.
A member of the Scenery Hill Road Runners, she was also an active member of the Washington American Legion Auxilliary, and the Loyal Order of the Moose.
She enjoyed music, playing cards, Blackjack and the slots, and loved dancing with Russell, and traveling with him to casinos, on cruises, and to Las Vegas.
In 1941, she married William Kenneth Foflygen, who died during WWII, on Iwo Jima Beach.
William and Priscilla had two children, Priscilla Elaine (Edward) Fullgraf, of Claysville, and the late William Kenneth Foflygen, II.
On January 5, 1954, she married Russell Joseph Chuey in Winchester, VA. Russell and Priscilla had two daughters, Vivian Louise Daniels, of New Concord, OH, and Helen Marie (Michael) Moody, of Bethel Springs, TN.
She is survived by four generations, three children, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
A farmer’s wife, mother, and grandmother, Priscilla lived a wonderful life with her husband, Russell, for sixty-two years, until his passing in 2016.
A brother, Guy Albert, is deceased. She was the last of her immediate family of five generations.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the time of services, with Rev. Sue Petritis officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
