Kathryn Elizabeth Luba, 92, of Washington, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in her home. She was born January 12, 1925, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Michael Cappelli and Nellie Cornell Cappelli. Mrs. Luba graduated from Canonsburg High School and Penn Commercial. She was a homemaker who loved to spend time with her family. In addition, she loved to decorate her home and enjoyed bird watching and trips to Amish Country. Mrs. Luba was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church and a former member of Christian Mothers. On June 16, 1946, she married Arthur Luba, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Arthur M. (Joann) Luba, of Washington; a brother, Ray Cappelli of Washington; one sister, Patricia (Marvin) Watson of Washington; a grandson, Matthew M. (Hillary) Luba of New Castle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, April 21st, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, with Father Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 480 Johnson Road, Suite 200, Washington, PA 15301.
