David Lee Pugh

March 4, 1951 — April 4, 2017

David Lee Pugh, 66, of Washington, died on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He was born on March 4, 1951, a son of the late Homer Pugh, and Mary Pugh. David was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, and had worked for many years in the coal industry, prior to his retirement. He enjoyed making model boats, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, target shooting, camping, gardening, and riding his motorcycle. He loved the outdoors. David enjoyed outdoor trips with his sons, as well as going to music festivals, and concerts with them. Mr. Pugh was quite handy, and could often be found working on his vehicles, or on other projects. David was a great friend to all, full of wisdom, and a wry sense of humor. He loved his three sons, and daughter-in-law, and was a wonderful father, and doting grandfather. Surviving are his wife, Debra Pugh, sons, Shawn Moffit, Scott (Tallica) Pugh, and Nathanial Pugh; brothers, Homer and Robert (Martha) Pugh; grandchildren, Kate Grabiak, Brent Pugh, Javis Walker, and Aiselyn and Emya Pugh, and his special niece, Abby Giles, who was like a daughter. Friends will be received on Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
