Clara Rebecca Hindman, 76, of Washington, died Monday, March 27, 2017, in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center - Presbyterian Hospital. She was born June 1, 1940, in Taylorstown, a daughter of the late Lemuel and Nora McCartney. A graduate of Claysville High School, Mrs. Hindman was a homemaker and member of New Life Tabernacle, Washington. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, solving crossword puzzles, and playing with her grandchildren. Deceased are her husband, John Hindman, who died in 1986; a son, Johnny Hindman; a brother, Frank McCartney; and a half-sister, Geraldine Montgomery. Surviving are five sons, Carl Hindman of Albuquerque, New Mexico, George (Tammy) Hindman of Washington, Herbert (Trina) Hindman of Charleston, West Virginia, Kenneth Hindman of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Edward (Janine) Hindman of Ohio; a daughter, Rebecca Hindman of Tampa, Florida; three brothers, Lemuel, Earl and George McCartney; a sister, Marjorie Umensetter; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., the time of service, on Friday, March 31st, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Private burial will be held in Washington Cemetery.
