Brenda Lea Hackney Bennett, 51 of Washington, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Washington Hospital. She was born May 29, 1965 in Washington, a daughter of the late Raymond C. Hackney and Evelyn L. Wood Hackney. Brenda was a 1984 graduate of McGuffey High School and attended Penn Commercial and California University of Pennsylvania for computer drafting. She was the manager at McDonald’s for 16 years and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Brenda enjoyed bingo, cooking, coloring, detailing cars, shopping and playing cards with friends and family. She also enjoyed vacationing at the beach and camping. On September 10, 2009, she married Donald Richard Bennett, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Zachary (Alicia) Hackney of Washington, Kyle (Nancy) Hackney of Washington; three brothers, William Hackney of Washington, Brad Hackney of Prosperity and Brian (Lori) Hackney of Prosperity; a sister Beverly Hackney of Prosperity; five grandchildren, Kegen, Karson, Karis, Kaden and Gabe; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. the time of service with Pastor Richard White, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington.A luncheon will be held for family and friends from 11 a.m. till 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, in the South Franklin Social Hall.
