Harold Lee McCulley, 68, of West Alexander, died Friday, March 3, 2017, in Transitions Health Care, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on September 24, 1948, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Nelson and Elizabeth McCulley.
He was a 1967 graduate of McGuffey High School.
Mr. McCulley farmed for many years. After farming, he pursued work as a security guard, followed later by working as a tire technician at Walmart, retiring in 2014.
Mr. McCulley enjoyed gardening and woodworking, and loved going camping.
He was a member of Dallas (WV) United Methodist Church.
On June 4, 1971, he married Kathryn Powell, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, April Brownlee at home, Heather (Jody) Johnson of Amity and Erin (Dave) Briggs of Washington; six grandchildren, Luke, Bethany, Dakota, Blake, Parker and Rylee; a sister, Doris Errett of Hickory; and a brother, Bernard McCulley of West Finley.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Betty Ann Kelso of Melbourne, Florida.
The Washington Hospital, Transitions Health Care, and Amedisys Hospice provided Mr. McCulley and the family with diligent care and gracious generosity.
Friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 8th, with Rev. Lisa Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, West Virginia.
