George Dewey Crawford

George Dewey Crawford, 79 of Washington, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Washington Hospital. He was born January 16, 1938 in Marianna, the son of late Howard and Martha Crawford. George attended West Bethlehem Schools and worked for several local companies doing construction on roads and bridges. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. On February 1, 1960, he married Peggy Cox, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Jerry Crawford of Amity; two daughters, Judy Thomas of Washington and Jane (Bill) Baker of Amity; two brothers, Howard Crawford of Medina, OH, Joseph (Robin) Crawford of Clarksville; five grandchildren, Brandon Crawford, Bryan and Billy Thomas, Steven Baker and Amber Crawford; four great grandchildren, Addison, Hayley, Bobby and Harleigh. Deceased are three brothers, Halden, Ernest and Donald Crawford; two sisters, Helen Province and Virginia Piatt. Friends will be received Friday, February 24, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens.
