Dorothy Morrison Lusk Byers, 95 of Washington, passed from this world to be with her Lord, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Presbyterian Senior Care, surrounded by her family.
Dorothy spent the last few weeks of her life at the Presbyterian Senior Care, Southmont Facility.
She was born March 15, 1921, on the family farm in Nottingham Township, the daughter of the late Loman “L.P.” Morrison and Grace Devore Morrison.
Dorothy attended Somerset Township Grade School and Hoge Summit School for 5 years.
She worked for Trinity School District Food Service Department for 13 years.
Dorothy was a member of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church.
She loved cooking and baking, gardening, quilting, crocheting, knitting, playing 500 with her friends and spending time with family.
On November 21, 1938, she married the late Kenneth Lusk.
On January 1, 1962, she married George Manson Byers, who died May 29, 1996.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Nancy) Lusk of Shelby, OH, Robert (Connie) Lusk of Charleroi; a daughter, Glenda Grace (Russell) Miller of Eighty-Four; daughter in law, Lorraine Lusk; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many friends from the Thomas Campbell Apartments, where she resided for 25 years.
Deceased are a son, Donald Lusk; three brothers, Harold Morrison, Alfred Morrison and Nelson Morrison; and three sisters, Nettie Barney, Velma Sumney and Jennie Rizor.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Services will be Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10 30 a.m. at Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church with Pastor John Dykstra officiating. Burial will follow at Pigeon Creek Cemetery.
