Scott Edward Hatfield, 49 of Washington, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017, of complications of juvenile diabetes. He was born September 25, 1967 in Allegheny County, the son of Rev. Paul R. Hatfield and Marlene Koskey Hatfield. Scott was a 1985 graduate of Trinity High School and was self-employed modular home contractor for 15 years. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and was involved in broken bread ministries. Jesus was his life. Scott was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved his dog Elly. On May 21, 1988, he married Sonja Ruetschi, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Preston Scott Hatfield of Washington; a daughter, Kayla Marie (Eric) Ferris of Hickory; two sisters, Lisa McKeag of Washington and Lynn (Roy) Earnest of Washington; nieces and nephews, Justin Bardella, Jeremi Bardella, Justin McKeag, Brandon McKeag, Valerie McKeag, Matthew Earnest, Timothy Earnest and many dear friends. Deceased are two brothers, Gregory Hatfield and Paul Hatfield Jr. Friends will be received Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 from noon to 2:00 p.m. the time of service at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Decker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery.
