Dolores Marie Haines Mclaughlin

Dolores Marie Haines McLaughlin, 87 of Venice, Florida, formerly of Washington, died Monday, February 13, 2017 following a one year illness. She was born May 19, 1929 in Washington, the only child of the late William A. Williams and Elizabeth Gaul Williams. Dolores was a graduate of Washington High School and was a 1950 graduate of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She also had a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from California University. She worked at the Washington Hospital School of Nursing as an OBGYN Nursing Instructor and retired from working as a nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit #1. Dolores was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed golfing and reading. On October 7, 1950, she married William E. Haines, who died November 20, 1996. In October 1999, she married Harry McLaughlin, who died in 2012. Surviving are a son, William (Sharon) Haines of Northport, FL; a daughter, Kathleen M. Johnson of Venice, FL; three grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Brian Haines and Kelly Haines; three great grandchildren, Colin, Ethan and Gavin Haines. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
