Donald William “Red” Carns, 81, died peacefully, with his wife by his side, on Monday, February 13, 2017, following a brief illness.
He was born on September 6, 1935, in Burgettstown, a son of the late Myron and Dorris McKee Carns.
Mr. Carns was a graduate of Union High School, in Burgettstown.
He was the owner and operator of Carns Auto Sales and Salvage for fifty years.
He liked buying and selling tractors, and really enjoyed sprint racing, and then late model racing, as an owner.
Surviving are his longtime wife, Rose Stetar Carns; four nephews, Jared Carns, David Fellows, Israel Stetar, and Jacob Stetar; two nieces, Ashley Stetar and Christine Fellows; four brothers-in-law, Donald “Ludlow” Stetar, George (Julio) Stetar, and Michael and David Stetar; two sisters-in-law, Susan Fellows and Cathy Strope; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Dallas McKee Carns.
Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 17, 2017.
Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery
