John Joseph “Buster” Musante, 68, of Washington, died Saturday, January 21, 2017, in his home.
He was born August 13, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late Joseph John Musante and Violet Bieda Musante.
A graduate of Washington High School, Mr. Musante served in the United States Air Force from February 8, 1968, until his honorable discharge on August 12, 1971, with a rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.
Mr. Musante worked as a coal miner. His hobbies included woodworking, golfing, hunting and fishing. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with his family as well as his dogs, Sadie Lou and Abigayle, whom he dearly loved.
Mr. Musante had attended Holy Trinity National Catholic Church.
On August 13, 1999, he married Glenda Conklin, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Matthew Johnathan Hollup; two daughters, Brandi Frazee and Amanda Musante, both of Washington; stepsons, Robert Shaver Jr. of Pittsburgh and Clyde Shaver of Washington; a stepdaughter, Anna Shaver of New Mexico; one brother, Mark “Hammer” Musante of Washington; two sisters, Gayle Lane and Terry Hartzell, both of Washington; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 26th, with Father Mark Swoger officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
