Mary Frances King, 88 of Washington, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Transitions Personal Care Home.
She was born June 16, 1928 in Bethany, WV, the daughter of the late John Jay Atkinson and Catherine Scott Atkinson.
Mary was a graduate of West Alexander High School and worked as a secretary at Don Swart Equipment.
She was Presbyterian by faith and enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and watching TV. She was also an avid Steelers and NASCAR fan.
On June 10, 1946, she married Floyd Okle King, who died October 16, 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne (Donald) King of Washington, Rebecca Bromley of Washington; a brother, Donald Atkinson of Salem, OH; four grandchildren, Donald R. (Michelle) King Jr., Bethany (Robert) Bromley-Linn, Scott (Aviel Selkovits) Bromley, Todd (Amanda) King; two great grandchildren, Trista Marie King, Landen Michael King; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, John E. Atkinson, Roy L. Atkinson; a sister, Elizabeth Long; two sisters in law, Alice Atkinson and Norma Atkinson; a brother in law, William K. Long Sr.; a son in law, Joseph Bromley.
Friends will be received Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow at West Alexander Cemetery.
