Rebecca Jane McCullough, 73 of Houston, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017. She was born October 14, 1943 in Claysville, the daughter of the late William David and Emma Alice Baldwin Wheeler. Rebecca attended McGuffey High School, where she was proud to be in their first graduating class. She was an avid puzzle builder at the Heritage House of Houston, where she had been a resident for more than five years. There she served as cashier at monthly Sunday dinner fundraisers. Rebecca was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was active on the Mission Team and a relentless prayer warrior. She always had a cheerful smile and a witty word to brighten another’s day while working until she retired from Kings Family Restaurant in 2006. In retirement, she enjoyed watching television games chorus and grocery shopping with her son. She was always up for a road trip with her daughter, Regina, most recently to Columbus, Ohio. She enjoyed many fun evenings at her youngest granddaughter, Lois’s concerts and dramatic performances. She also was very fond of visiting her youngest grandson, Lucas and learning about Star Wars and Legos In September of 1964 she married James B. McCullough of Washington. Surviving are three children, Regina (Bill) McCullough Cass of Pittsburgh, James B. (Jaci) McCullough II of Washington and Jackie (Steve) McCullough Hertzel of Bethel Park; two brothers, Dave (Becky) Wheeler of Ohio, Kenny (Karen) Wheeler of Washington; a sister, Carol Wheeler Taylor of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Leah (Bill) Cass King, William (Jess) Cass, Eliza Cass, Jason Cass, Lois Cass and Lucas Hertzel; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents is a brother, Jack (Frances) Wheeler. A Memorial Service and Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1701 Ridgewood Drive, Washington. Burial is private. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Calvary Baptist Mission Team.
