Allen Gary Glover, 76, of Washington, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, in Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born on March 4, 1940, in Washington, a son of the late Chester Kenneth and Ruth Isabell Bennett Glover. Mr. Glover was a member of the Washington Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served from March 4, 1958, until March 2, 1961. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 3, 1961, and served until April 11, 1963. Mr. Glover was involved in the Berlin Crisis, which lasted from 1958 until 1961, and resulted in the building of the Berlin Wall. He was a 100% disabled veteran. A member of the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion, he was also a lifetime member of the D.A.V., the Disabled American Veterans. Allen was a retired City of Washington Fireman and a retired postal worker. On August 10, 1980, he married Corrine A. Muhleman, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Allen Gary “Sam” Glover, Jr., Kenneth (Crystal) Glover, Richard (Karen) Glover, Thomas (Karla) Glover, and Randy (Corrine) Glover; six daughters, Rhonda (Jeff) Pope, Sonya (Terry) Steffen, Maureen Allen, Doureen (Dan) Cumer, Lori Maloney, and Carla (Dave) Outcalt; twenty-four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Wanda Stollar. Friends will be received on Saturday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, January 16, 2017, with David Deagel officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded graveside by the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
