Ronald DeWalt Wiles, 84 of Washington, died Thursday, December 15, 2016.
He was born July 13 1932 in Washington, the son of the late DeWalt I. Wiles and Marye A. Marra Wiles.
Ronald attended Washington High School and graduated from Trinity High School. He also graduated from Penn Commercial and received many professional certifications.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a Corporal from 1950 to 1952 where he received an Occupation Medal in Germany.
Ronald was in real estate for many years first as a real estate broker, then continuing as sole owner of R. D. Wiles Appraisal Associates.
He was active in his local professional association, Washington-Greene Association of Realtors, where he was a past president.
He also was the morning man in the mid-70s at WJPA and a radio announcer at many local sports events.
Also, he was a long standing and devoted member of Jefferson Ave United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge #776 and American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
Ronald enjoyed golfing and dartball through the leagues at the Elks. He loved the opera and every sport that he could watch. Throughout it all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine W. (George) Thomas of Washington, with whom he made his home; two sisters, Phyllis A. Sargent of Washington and Mary Jane (Ronald G.) Braden of Washington; two grandchildren, Patricia Grace Thomas and George Mitchell Thomas.
His first wife, Sarah Wagers and second wife, Patricia A. Connelly are both deceased.
Friends will be received Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, December 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ross Pryor officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
