John Keenan, Sr.

John Edward Keenan, Sr., 69, of Claysville, died Sunday, December 11, 2016, in the Emergency Department of Washington Hospital.   He was born October 18, 1947, in Charleston, West Virginia, a son of the late Allan and Virginia Walters Keenan.   Mr. Keenan graduated from Washington Irving High School and served in the Air Force.  He was the lot manager at Tri State Auto Auction for 25 years.   Mr. Keenan was a member of Roadside Chapel and Claysville American Legion and was active in the Democratic party.  He loved to read, loved children, and was excited about the impending birth of his first grandchild in March.    On July 15, 1972, he married Deborah Wright, who survives.   Also surviving are a son, Jay Keenan of Claysville; a daughter, Janel (Dane) Livingood of Washington; a brother, Allan (Lyne) Keenan of Berkley Springs, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.   Friends will be received from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m., the time of service, on Wednesday, December 14th in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Craig Wright officiating.  Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639, Claysville.
