Clara "Rosalie" Sim

Clara “Rosalie” Sim, 81 of Washington, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Presbyterian Senior Care Southmont. She was born December 23, 1934 in Marianna, the daughter of the late Anthony Thomas Kotchar and Martha Elizabeth Rice Kotchar. Rosalie was a graduate of Washington High School, and retired from Sears, where she was an office manager. She was a member of the Claysville Mother’s Club, the President of Pennsylvania State Federation of Democratic Women Local and District 17. She also held multiple offices in the Pennsylvania State Federation of Democratic Women, where she had been a member for over twenty-two years. Rosalie enjoyed the casino, the dog races at Wheeling Downs, playing cards, and attending a card club regularly. On December 30,1955, she married Keith Rodney Sim, who died January 8, 2003. Surviving are three daughters, Debra F. (the late Clifford D.) Hickman of Washington, Diana S. Janflone of Washington and Dawn E. (Carl) Calabro of Washington; two grandchildren, Lauren E. (Doug) Flanagan of Virginia and Jillian D. (Emerson) Duym of Colorado; and a great grandchild, Thomas James Flanagan. Friends will be received Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday December 3, 2016 from 10 to 1 pm the time of service at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington.Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
