William W. Reese, Jr.

William W. Reese, Jr., 92, of Washington, died on Thursday, November 24, 2016, in his home. He was born on August 24, 1924, in Washington, a son of the late William W. Reese, Sr., and Anna McCaulley. A graduate of Washington High School, he also attended Washington and Jefferson College. In 1989, Mr. Reese retired from Kelly Industries in Eighty-Four, PA. William was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Washington. Mr. Reese was a member of the Masonic Lodge #164, where he had been the Past Master in 1958. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame for basketball, in 1987. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Pittsburgh Pirates fan, he also enjoyed golfing. On August 17, 1951, he married Ellen Bane, who died on September 27, 2002. Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Vern) Lowry, of Ottowa, IL, and Lynn (Michael) Bedillion, of Washington; five grandchildren, Jessica (David) Husted, Jason (Melissa) Lowry, April (Grant) Reed, Amanda (Andrew) Sickles, and Mitchell Reese Bedillion; six great grandchildren, Evan and Riley Lowry, Avery Husted, Griffin Reed, and Sophia and Stella Sickles; a nephew, Richard (Alice) Warrick; a close friend, Bill Simpson; and a caregiver, Patty Caruso. Deceased is his sister, Sarah Warrick. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., on Monday, November 28, 2016, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes., Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where a Masonic Service will be held by Washington Lodge #164, on Monday, at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, in the First United Methodist Church, 29 North College St., Washington, with Rev. Kelley Schanely officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 29 N. College St., Washington, PA 15301.
