Mary E. Yates, 90, of Eighty-Four, died on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in the Donnell House.
She was born on June 10, 1926, in West Alexander, a daughter of the late, Henry W. and Lena Scott Ferrell.
Mary attended Hickory High School.
A homemaker, she was a member of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Yates volunteered for twenty years at the Washington County Food Bank, and was a member of the National Pike Steam, Gas, and Horse Association.
On February 7, 1948, she married Paul D. Yates, Sr., who died on October 9, 2015.
Surviving are two sons, John W. Yates, of Eighty-Four, and Paul D. Yates, Jr, of Washington; a daughter, Donna M. Yates (Robert) Jones, of Eighty-Four; a brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, Carl and Wilma Yates, of Bentleyville; four grandchildren, Rodney Yates, John W. Yates, Jr., Dean Yates, and Heath (Sabrina) Taggart; six great grandchildren, Aubree, Hailee, Shane, and Kavaya Yates, and Brayden and Mylah Taggart; a step grandchild, Dalton Harvey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased are a daughter, Ruth Ann Yates-Taggart-Kirr, a brother, Howard Ferrell, and a sister, Joan Ryan.
Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016, at 12 p.m., with Rev. John Dykstra officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, PA.
