Elizabeth “Leona” Montgomery, 74 of Washington, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at UPMC Magee Hospital.
She was born August 19,1942 in Washington the daughter of the late Boyd Baker and Mary Evelyn Watts Baker.
Leona attended East Washington High School and was a certified nursing assistant at the City of Hope in Duarte, CA.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a caregiver to her family and was always taking care of people.
Leona loved her family, cooking and puzzles.
On August 11, 1999, she married Charles “Kirk” Montgomery, who survives.
Also surviving are seven sons, James Curtis Howard of Pomona, CA, Richard E. (Tracey) Howard of Washington, Robert S. (Kelli) Hickey Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Charles K. Montgomery Jr. of Tampa, FL, Terrell E. Montgomery of Houston, TX, Mac A. (Victoria) Montgomery of Covina, CA, and Anthony D. Montgomery of Deridder, LA; a daughter, Erica A. Montgomery of Long Beach, CA; three sisters, Charlotte Akers of Pittsburgh, Rosemary Akers of Pittsburgh and Jackie (Melvin) Butler of Washington; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents are her siblings, Ronnie Watts, Richard Watts and Frank Akers Jr.
Friends will be received Monday, November 28, 2016 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. the time of service at Friendship Baptist Church, 17 E. Walnut St. Washington with Pastor Christopher Glover officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
