Robert William “Sonny” Hartzog, Sr., 76, of Washington, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016, in his home.
He was born July 31, 1940, in Washington, a son of the late Robert and Hannah Yeater Hartzog.
Mr. Hartzog retired from Canon Pottery and enjoyed doing mechanic work on the side.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved joking around and having fun, as well as spending time with his grandkids.
On January 29, 1962, he married Mary Lou Grandon, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert W. (Mindy) Hartzog and Freddie Hartzog; five daughters, Kathy Hartzog, Barbara Hartzog, Donna (Sherman) Brown, Debbie (Joe) Burrows and Judy (Joey) Naraskivitch; two brothers, Clyde (the late Lydia) Hartzog and Thomas (Mary) Hartzog; a sister, Annie (the late Joseph “Dapper”) Ardino, all of Washington; 27 grandchildren, Paula, Daniel, William, Paul, Joshua, Robert, Deanna, Justin, Angela, Tiffany, Tyler, Anthony, Mary, Zack, Fred, Courtney, Courtney, Jordan, Ryan, Faith, Daryl, Nathan, Mathew, Sara, Ashley, Nicole, and Joey Jr.; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, November 28th, with Rev. Fred Helmick officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
