Phillip Ray Day

Phillip Ray Day, 63, of Washington, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016, in his home. He had been in declining health the past few months. He was born in Franklin Township, Greene County, on March 28, 1953, the first-born child of the late Homer Robert Day and Naomi Faye Hutchinson Day. He briefly attended Clark School Phillip lived most of his life at Western Center in Canonsburg before spending several years at a Washington-Greene Alternative Residential Services group home in Amity. He worked with Meals on Wheels and other jobs through the ARS program. He retired to the senior program in recent years. Phillip attended Lower Ten Mile United Presbyterian Church in Amity until he moved to Washington. He enjoyed spending time with his large extended family, Sunday dinners with his immediate family, bike riding (when he was young), playing guitar, going on field trips, attending parties where he could “boogie boogie,” and watching old Westerns and scary movies. He also really enjoyed listening to music on the radio. Phillip will be sadly missed by his four siblings, Robert Dale (Renee) Day of Lone Pine, Debra Denise Gallo of Bentleyville, Sandra Dawn (William) Chappel of Washington, and Melody Joy Day of Washington; nine nieces and nephews, Mandy (Zack) Young, Brittany Lundsford, William Gallo, Marsha (Evan) Garber, Rachael (David) Bruno, Maggie Bober, Jaclyn Chappel, William Chappel and Harrison Chappel; and seven grand nieces and nephews, Olivia, Benjamin, Samantha, Madison, Allison, Andrew and Caleb. Friends will be received on Monday, November 21st, from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev.
