Esker "Ecky" Harold Cottrill Jr.

Esker ‘Ecky” Harold Cottrill Jr., 60 of Washington, died Wednesday, November 9,2016 at Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born July 6, 1956 in Washington, the son of Esker “Harold” Cottrill Sr. of Bentleyville and the late Glenda Stauffer Cottrill. Ecky grew up in Michigan and returned to Washington at the age of 18. He was a carpenter and before retiring he built several houses in the Washington area. Ecky always had a story to tell and his favorite past time was sitting on his porch shooting the breeze with his friends and family. He loved to travel with his good friend, Denny Martin and visited every state except Montana. On December 30, 1977, he married Sherry Marshman, with whom he had four children and stayed friends with after their divorce. Also surviving are three daughters, Lillian (Eric) Miller of Washington, Priscilla (John) Duchi of Washington, Heather (David Kriston) Cottrill of Washington; three brothers, Earl Cottrill, Earnest Cottrill and Paul Himes III; a sister, Priscilla Kenny; 10 grandchildren, Shiloh, Rachel, Jennifer, Erica, and Katie Miller, Faith and Nicholas Duchi, Kyla and David Kriston and Shayne Biers; longtime companion, Connie Stewart, with whom he made his home. Deceased is a son, Esker H. Cottrill III. Friends will be received Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
