Kenneth C. Hackney, 90, of Washington, died November 9, 2016 at Transitions Health Care.
He was born May 4, 1926 in Amity, the son of the late Donald Charles Hackney and Wilma Dale Canan Hackney.
Kenneth was a 1945 graduate of East Washington High School and attended Penn Commercial and Lockhaven College.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as the assistant manager of P.N.C. Bank for 36 years.
Mr. Hackney was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Kenneth was a member of the F & AM Washington Lodge #164, Washington Chapter 150, Washington Council, Jacques DeMolay Commandery #3, Valley of Pittsburgh Consistory, Royal Order of Scotland, Red Cross of Constantine, York Rite College, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Wa Cha Gree Forest #149 and the Taylorstown American Legion Post #907. He also served in the supervisory board of North Franklin and Past President of the Canonsburg Chamber of Commerce and President of the Citizen’s Library Council.
On August 15, 1948, he married Betty Jane Bunner, who died September 15, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey R. Hackney of Washington, Greg P. (Jodi) Hackney of Claysville; a daughter Diane H. Chenney of Washington; a sister, Jean Kuhn of Claysville; three grandchildren, Dustin (Katherine) Chenney, Matthew (Amanda) Chenney, Kayla Hackney; five great grandchildren, Kade Abel, Kelsey Chenney, Gunnar Chenney, Deegan Chenney, Dempsy Chenney.
Deceased are two brothers, Raymond C. Hackney and D. Wayne Hackney.
Friends will be received Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, November 11, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Wiltrout officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175. On Friday, November 11, 2016 at 7:30 pm a Masonic Service will be conducted by F & AM Washington Lodge #164.
