Harry Everett Mounts, 84, of Washington, died on Friday, November 4, 2016, in the Washington Hospital. He was born on October 17, 1932, in Washington, a son of the late Elmer and Della Doman Mounts. A 1951 graduate of Claysville High School, he was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church. He joined the church on Palm Sunday, 1956. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Ticonderoga, during the Korean War. Harry served from February, 1951, until his honorable discharge in February, 1956. Mr. Mounts had worked as a superintendent in the packing room at Brockway Glass, for forty years. Harry enjoyed golf, watching high school football and wrestling, and tracking family genealogy. On August 26, 1955, he married Marion Powelson, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Jere (Barbara) Mounts, of Columbus, OH; and four grandchildren, Brittany Mounts, of Hilliard, OH; Tatum (Tim) Gebert, of West Palm Beach, FL, and Zachary and Jillian Legler, both of Washington. Deceased is a daughter, Jill Legler, and brothers and sisters, Leo Mounts, Irene Davidson, Lucille Vance, Minnie Levers, Ida Caldwell, Abe Mounts, Hazel Yaros, and Betty Powell. Friends will be received on Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2016, with Rev. Jason Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded graveside, by the United States Navy.
