Thelma B. Lightner, 86 of Washington, died Friday, October 21, 2016 at Paramount Senior Living.
She was born May 28, 1930 in Dogtown, PA, the daughter of the late Harry Beabout and Frances Marshall Beabout.
Thelma graduated from Waynesburg High School and worked at Tygart Valley Glass as a packer for many years. She also was a homemaker.
She was a member Union Valley Methodist Church in Graysville.
Thelma loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search, gardening, and baking.
On August 18, 1956, she married Reed D. Lightner, who died November 11, 2005.
Surviving are a son, Garry (Kimberly) Lightner of Washington; a daughter, Debra D. (Dale) Smith of Bulger; a sister Rheita Danley of Washington; sister in law, Mary (Ronald) Allison of Prosperity; four grandchildren, Matthew R. Lightner, Wesley C. Lightner, Christine N. Smith and Sarah M. Smith; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are her siblings, Arthur Beabout, Sarah Clutter, Elsie Mae Ackley Phillips, Ralph Beabout, Ray Beabout, who died in infancy; a brother in law, Bo Danley.
Friends will be received Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Prosperity Cemetery.
