Charles A. “Chuck” McCartney Jr., 69 of Washington, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Golden Living.
He was born April 25, 1947 in Washington, the son Charles A. McCartney Sr. and Emma Diamond McCartney.
Charles graduated from Washington High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was a pressman for 40 years at Rubber Rolls Inc., Meadowlands, retiring in 2013.
He enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR and the Steelers.
On June 8, 1985 he married Laura Scott, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Shelley (Robert) Pavlek of Philadelphia Kevin (Amanda) McCartney of Virginia Beach and Melissa (Shane) Carroll of Washington; a brother, Wallace (Evelyn) McCartney of SC; two sisters, Stella Maloy of Washington and Emma (Robert) Newman of Washington; three grandchildren, Nathan and Leah McCartney and Robert Pavlek III.
Deceased are a brother, Lawrence McCartney and a sister, Linda Sullivan.
Friends will be received Friday, October 14, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at noon, with Pastor Terry Ardeno officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
