Samuel Patterson, 88, of Washington, died on Friday, September 23, 2016, in his home.
He was born on October 31, 1927, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late William and Margaret Pearl Lyttle Patterson.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he had worked as a mechanic at Washington Mould and Foundry.
Samuel could fix anything and everything. He was a man of few words, but no one ever doubted his love.
Mr. Patterson enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to the blues, watching westerns on television, cooking, big cars, and driving fast.
On October 20, 1951, he married Ethel Marie Miller, who died on March 4, 2016.
Surviving are a son, Samuel (Warnette) Patterson, of Fayetteville, NC; four daughters, Pauline Patterson, Ethel Patterson, and Donna Patterson, all of Washington, and Denise (Melvin) O'Neill, of Columbus, OH; two brothers, George (Marlyn) Patterson, and Paul (Denise) Patterson, both of Washington; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, William, Harry, Lawrence, Charles and Joseph; four sisters, Margaret Lyttle Patterson, Bertha Morrison, Geneva Grayson, and Patricia Patterson, and a grandson, Brannon Patterson.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 29, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes., Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
