Clarence E. “Shorty” Shrader, 66, of Washington, died Thursday, September 15, 2016, in his home.
He was born March 7, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late William and Anna Elizabeth Ellifritz Shrader.
Mr. Shrader retired from Al’s Water Service, where he had worked as a mechanic.
A jack-of-all-trades, he enjoyed tinkering with things and antique cars.
Mr. Shrader loved playing with his grandson, Ty.
On November 5, 1977, he married Sandra Adams, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Ericka L. Mermon (Brady) of Avella and Hilary A. Avolia (Joe) of Hickory; a brother, Frank Shrader (Sally) of Prosperity; a sister, Ruth Durbin of Washington; and a grandson Tyler Dominic Avolia.
Deceased are brothers, Charles, Fred, William, George, Kenneth and Louis Shrader; and a sister, Mary Haskey.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or service. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington, is handling arrangements.
