Christopher Thomas Kelly, 66, of Avella, died Monday, September 12, 2016, in Oak Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Greensburg.
He was born December 9, 1949, in Pittsburgh, a son of Eileen Hollahan Kelly of Mt. Lebanon and the late Frank Kelly.
Mr. Kelly graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School. He served in the Army for 7 years, the Navy for 3 years and retired from the Coast Guard after serving 22 years. In addition, he worked as a bus driver for the Port Authority for 13 years.
Mr. Kelly was involved with the Buck Skinners, American Mountain Men and Civil War re-enactment.
He was Catholic by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Rothwell Kelly; a step-son, Kreed Rothwell of Avella; two stepdaughters, Kim Teichmann and Kena (Lynn) Cowell, both of Avella; two brothers, Charles Kelly of Venetia and Frank Kelly Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, M. Kelly Pipich of Mt. Lebanon and Leslie Mumy of Austin, Texas; four step-grandchildren, Cheyenne Rothwell, Amanda, Courtney and Brooklyn Cowell; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 20th, with Pastor Betty Riecks officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639.
