William Charles Blacka, Sr., 82, of Greensboro, North Carolina, formerly of Washington, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016, in High Point Regional Hospital, High Point, NC.
He was born February 14, 1934, in Washington, a son of the late Frank Blacka and Olive Emma Rolly Blacka.
A graduate of Washington High School, Mr. Blacka worked as a jet mechanic at Northwest Airlines for 37 years.
A Korean War veteran, he served in the Navy for four years and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Navy Occupation Service Medal.
Mr. Blacka was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, Washington.
On May 10, 1954, he married Donna Yost, who died September 4, 2012.
Surviving are a son, Scott Blacka of North Carolina; a grandson, Jason Schmock; and four sisters.
Deceased are a daughter, Debbie Schmock, a son, William Blacka, Jr., and a sister.
Private burial will be held in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
