Gerrilee “Gerri” Kearns, of Washington, formerly of Bentleyville, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016, in her sister’s home, following a brief battle with cancer. She was born on June 28, 1964, in Washington, a daughter of the late Charles “Keith” Kearns, and Dora Wright Kearns. She was a 1982 graduate of Bentworth High School. Gerri was employed by Washington-Greene ARS for the past nineteen years, and was previously employed by UCP in Washington. Although Gerri never had any children of her own, she was blessed to babysit many who were very special to her, and had many little ones who loved their “Aunt Gigi.” She is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou (Tom) Bodnovich, of Washington, Ginny (John) Texter, and Donna (Jim) Pearce, both of Grove City; a niece, Danielle Bodnovich; three nephews, Matt Texter, and Josh and Tim Pearce; a special girlie, Payten Earlywine; a great niece, four great nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Deceased, in addition to her parents are a sister, Linda Kearns, a niece, Valerie Texter, a great niece, Megan Thomas, and a very special friend, Christopher Reaves. Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Edward Burdett officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Brownsville, PA. Memorial donations may be made to the Jaime Shemasek Stride and Ride, 111 Third St, Bentleyville, PA 15314. This benefits the Muscular Dystrophy camp for kids.
