Richard J. “Jack” Francis, 64, of Washington, PA, after a courageous battle, passed away August 11, 2016.
He was born on April 18, 1952, to the late Richard and Lillian Francis.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jody; son, David Jason Vankirk (Rachel); brothers Joseph (Linda), William (Theresa); sister, Linda McKavish (Stanley, deceased); nephews Joseph (Amy) and Corey (Cara); nieces Jennifer McConnell (Matt), Kathryn, Christine Ciullo (Zachary), Laura and Anne.
Rick loved sports and was an excellent athlete in his youth. He had a love for music, Aretha Franklin and Elvis being his favorites. He also had a great interest in the JF Kennedy Family and was an avid reader.
Rick enjoyed his L.O.O.M #22 and Pulaski Club memberships as well as spending time at the Union Grill.
He attended Immaculate Conception School, graduated from Washington High School, and had a long employment with and retired from PennDOT.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m., Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, August 15th in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
