Betty Jane Bryner, 94 of West Alexander, formerly of Lone Pine, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Transitions Health Care.
She was born January 16, 1922 in Washington, the daughter of the late George E. McGary and Caroline Behner McGary.
Betty worked at the RCA Plant and the Hot House as a planter.
She was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed golfing and bowling.
She loved spending time with her children, her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On January 11, 1939, she married Earl C. Bryner, who died September 20, 1985.
Surviving are two sons, Chauncey “Buck” (Toni) Bryner of West Alexander, Kent H. (Joann) Bryner of Alabama; eight grandchildren, Amie (Jack) Buel of Avella, Heather (Adam) Charles of Ohio, Lori (Craig) Custer of Washington, Chet Givens of Ohio, Megan Bryner of WV, Ian Bryner of Washington, Abe Bryner, of Alabama; twelve great grandchildren, Emily Buel, Aubrey Charles, Molly McCoid, Jamie Buel, Joselin Charles, Marissa Custer, Ryan Custer, Desiree Givens, Alexis Givens, Leandra Givens, Zoe Neelen, Teague Neelen; a great great grandchild, Cali Givens; many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a daughter, Joy Bryner Givens; a granddaughter, Sarah Bryner Ostovic; eight brothers and sisters, Joanne (Ron) Mrenak who died the same day as Betty, Ann Eisenhuth, Virginia Phillips, Mary Bert, Florence McGary, Don McGary, Lee McGary, George “Bud” McGary.
Friends will be received Monday, August 1, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Grewe officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
