Ethel Louise Redd Brookman, 90 of Washington, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
She was born October 11, 1925 in Washington, the daughter of the late Walter Redd and Katherine McCoy Redd.
Ethel was a graduate of Trinity High School and Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Washington Hospital as a registered nurse for over 20 years, retiring in 1973.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
On January 1, 1947 she married Paul Hope Brookman, who died November 7, 2008.
Mrs. Brookman was a member of the Church of the Covenant.
Surviving are two sons, Linn (Rebecca J.) Brookman of Washington and Charles (Rebecca A.) Brookman of Washington; a brother, Robert Redd of Washington; two sisters, Janice Briggs of Lone Pine and Jean Anthony of Washington; four grandchildren, Lori (Cary) Cowden, Brandi (Craig) Buken, Amy (Ron) Cerino, Courtney (Paul) Kukovich; nine great grandchildren, Lauren, Paige, Blake, Camrynn, Fallyn, Natalie, Ashley, Sawyer and Zachary.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a daughter, Katherine who died as an infant and a sister Iverna Powell.
Friends will be received Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
