Ada M. McLaughlin, 98, formerly of Washington, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born on December 18, 1917, in Pittsburgh, to the late Mary Emma and Charles E. Young. Mrs. McLaughlin graduated from Washington High School and attended Washington Female Seminary and Thiel College. On October 15, 1945, she married John P. McLaughlin, who is deceased. Mrs. McLaughlin was a life long member of the First Lutheran Church. She is survived by two daughters, Beth A. Hnot (Charles) of Scottsdale, Arizona and Megan McLaughlin Fleischer (Stephen) of Monument, Colorado; a cherished granddaughter, Christina Noel Fagella of Pittsburgh, who was the light of her life; and several devoted nieces and nephews, Charles R. “Mark” Anthony (Linda) of Naples, Florida, Vickie Ritchie (Ron) of Prosperity, Deborah Unruh (Don) of Reno, Nevada, Samuel McLaughlin (Jan) of Mercersburg, Pamela Cannon (Ken) of Harrington, Delaware, Tamara Hutchison of Mechanicsburg, and Diana McLaughlin of Prosperity. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Sarah and Lilyan, and her brother, Charles. She enjoyed having lunch and playing bridge with her friends prior to moving to Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 7370 East Gold Dust Ave., Scottsdale, AZ 85258. Friends will be received from 10 till 11 a.m., the time of services, on Friday, July 22nd, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Schott officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
