Frank Mancina, 93, of Washington, died Sunday, July 17, 2016, in Donnell House.
He was born July 24, 1922, in Washington, a son of John and Rose Pallette Mancina.
Mr. Mancina worked as a laborer and dockhand at Brockway #11.
A World War II veteran, he served in the Army from December 31, 1942, until his honorable discharge on October 29, 1945.
Mr. Mancina was a member of Friendship Community Church and the Jessop Club.
He enjoyed watching westerns on television, gardening, playing cards, and, when younger, rabbit hunting with his brothers.
In 1966, he married Mary Jane Carpenter, who died January 18, 2008.
Surviving are two sons, John F. “Franky” Munchie of Lakeland, Florida and John (Shirley) Cossu of Washington; two daughters, Patricia Georgetti of Washington and Mary Frances Burk of Amity; grandchildren, Rhonda Georgetti Mason, Adele Georgetti, Kathy Baronyak, Joni Early, John Cossu, Mary Ann MacFarlane, Theodore Burk, Beth King, Lisa Burk, Deanna Munchie, and Tiffany Munchie; many great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Beverly Jean Munchie, who died in infancy; brothers, Santa “Zunt’ Munchie, Tony Mancinia, Joseph Munchie, Salvatore “Sam” Mancina, Dominic Mancina, and John Mancina; sisters, Corilla Richmond, Mary Reese, Catherine Pierson, and Theresa Lindley.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 till 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 20th. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and active duty Army personnel.
