Norma Jean Poland, 81, of Washington, died Friday, July 15, 2016, in her home.
She was born May 23, 1935, in Washington, a daughter of the late Charles Lang and Audrey Barnhart Lang.
Ms. Poland earned an Associate’s Degree in accounting at Penn Commercial. She worked at J.C. Penney in various positions for 34 years.
Ms. Poland loved her grandchildren, cats, and watching her favorite shows on television. Every Memorial Day, she planted flowers in many cemeteries.
Ms. Poland was Lutheran by faith.
Surviving are two sons, Danny (Melinda) Poland and Jeff (Sharon) Poland, both of Washington; a sister, Mary Landock of Alabama; grandchildren, Matt, Richie, Brad, Eric, Scotty, Adam, Jessica, and Jason Poland, Mike and Justin Cole, and Nicole Dachille; and many great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Richard Poland; a daughter, Marsha Poland; a grandson, Danny Lee Poland, Jr.; two brothers, Charles Lang and Herman Lank; and a sister, Edna Quinn.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 19th. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery.
